Reggie Williams, PhD is an Associate Professor of Theological Studies at St. Louis University and author of six books, including the groundbreaking book Bonhoeffer’s Black Jesus: Harlem Renaissance Theology and an Ethic of Resistance, which is widely considered one of the best works on Bonhoeffer’s time in America ever written. His book was named Outstanding Academic Title by Baylor Press and won Dr. Williams recognition in as a Black Christian Social Ethicist. His academic interests address the problem of an idealized humanity and community in Western world Christianity. By asking what it means to be Christian and human, Williams explores how to recover from the distortions that turn Christ into a site for the promotion of harmful religious practices. His work draws widely upon Black studies, theological studies, and Christian Ethics.
