Pastor Stephen “Cue” Jn-Marie is a dynamic figure who combines faith leadership, social activism, and community organizing. As the founder of The Row LA, a church without walls in Los Angeles’ Skid Row, he serves the homeless community. Cue’s background as a former Virgin Records artist with the rap group College Boyz informs his unique approach to ministry and activism.
Since 2006, Cue has been a strong advocate for homeless rights, workers’ rights, and social justice. He is involved with several organizations, including Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice (CLUE), the Black Jewish Justice Alliance (BJJA), and Black Lives Matter LA. His work focuses on police accountability, dismantling mass incarceration, and addressing houselessness.
Cue’s education includes programs at the University of Southern California, covering violence prevention and prisoner re-entry. He has founded multiple initiatives, including Creating Justice LA and The Hip Hop Smoothie Shop, which aim to promote justice and reimagine economics through creative expressions and worker-owned cooperatives.
Recognized for his impactful work, Cue was honored as a KCET/PBS Southern California local Hero in 2019.
