Danielle Espiritu is a Kanaka Maoli educator from KÄneÊ»ohe, OÊ»ahu currently living with her Ê»ohana in Waimalu in the moku (district) of Ê»Ewa. She is of Chinese, Samoan, Native Hawaiian, Korean, Puerto Rican, Filipino, and European descent, and honors the people, lands, and genealogies that have shaped her. Dani and her community are passionate about justice and pursuing the Lord’s heart and presence. They seek to live lives that bring healing, reconciliation, and abundance to both Ê»Äina (land, that which feeds) and kÄnaka (people) by restoring balance and right relationship, and they stand on the shoulders of many poÊ»e aloha Ê»Äina (patriots, lovers of the land) who held fiercely to their love for their lands, their people, and for IesÅ« (Jesus).
