Morris Williams Distinguished Professor Emeritus of the Practice of Christian Ministry at Duke Divinity School. A prominent Christian leader in the church’s struggle against apartheid\, he was presiding bishop of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa and served as president of the South African Council of Churches in partnership with Bishop Desmond Tutu.
