An execution date has been set for Indiana death row prisoner Jeffrey Weisheit at 12am on November 5, 2026, for the 2010 murders of Alyssa and Caleb Lynch. (Note: Night of Nov 4, 2026)

Jeffrey ended up killing Alyssa and Caleb by setting their house on fire – an action that arose out of anger towards their mother, who was pregnant with Jeffrey’s child at the time. While he failed to convincingly explain what led him to murder those two young children, at his recent clemency hearing, Jeffrey expressed his desire to continue supporting his prison community if allowed to live out the rest of his natural life in there.

The father of Alyssa and Caleb calls on Gov. Braun to grant clemency to Jeffrey Weisheit, thereby rendering his death sentence to that of life without parole. In his affidavit to the Governor, he said the following:

“I request that Jeffrey Weisheit receive life in prison without eligibility for parole. With the remaining years of his life, he would be able to continue seeking the Lord’s forgiveness and redemption for his actions… What good does it do the memory of my children to put this man to death? … Hurting Mr. Weisheit’s family by executing him is not the outcome my children would want. …I seek to save his family the great pain and loss from the taking of his life. I want to prevent another parent from experiencing the loss I have experienced.” He concludes by addressing Mr. Weisheit directly, writing, “Jeffrey, I forgive you.”
