This special gathering for Gun Violence Awareness Month will focus on peace-making for all ages. We’ll begin with Mike Martin, founder and Executive Director of RAWtools, who will share stories from his work forging nonviolence—literally turning guns into garden tools and cultivating spaces for restorative justice, conflict mediation, and healing in our communities.
Then, we’ll spend time with Hannah Martin, Associate Pastor and reading interventionist, as she introduces her brand-new children’s book, Sparking Peace. With warmth and wisdom, Hannah offers a story that helps kids explore what it means to be peacemakers in a hurting world. This is a perfect opportunity to bring your children to morning prayer and hear the message of peace together as a family.
This Monthly Morning Prayer follows the liturgy from Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals and is open to all—whether you’re joining with coffee in hand, children by your side, or a heart ready for renewal.
