On Saturday afternoon, June 29, RawTools finished the marathon, forging over 44,000 minutes, 1 minute for each life lost to gun violence in 2023. Matt Clarady was a big part of the marathon this year. He put in over 8,000 minutes across 16 days, including help from friends and family members. Take a look at this interview of Matt on the RawTools Facebook page by Rex Harsin Films.
From RawTools:
“We made our goal! So many of us are tired of inaction from policy makers and firearm manufacturers. Our national network of Blacksmiths and Makers took action in June, laboring 1 minute for each life, over 44,000, lost to gun violence in 2023. Thanks to @nmpgv and their partnership with RFK Highschool in Albuquerque, NM for their time put in this month. Each week, 6 students work for 4 hours making garden tools, art, jewelry and other items.”
