What if Jesus really meant what he said?

prayer (xxvi) …for Munther Isaac and Gaza…

By Jonathan Chan

prayer (xxvi)

…for Munther Isaac and Gaza…

this year, the child will be found

swaddled in rubble. soft infant

flesh surrounded by rough slabs

and crumbling. do not neglect

the day of small things. little is

much in a rain of firebombs. in

Bethlehem, a silent God does

not ignore the suffering. he is

born to be trampled, shot,

bombarded, and

scorned.
